We often overlook or become complacent about architecture and interior design, yet they are the very pinnacles of our daily existence. Every home, office, government building, place of worship, restaurant, hospital, surgery, or gym you have ever entered or even passed by, has been shaped by both disciplines. Some may not be much to look at, but their functionality may be perfectly suited to their purpose—or, perhaps, not. Others might inspire awe, prompting us to pause, admire, and capture them in photographs. Better yet, in glossy hard back books, and literature to study to obtain the ability to master the craft of architecture and interior design.
The point is this: our entire infrastructure depends on architecture and interior design; indeed, it is defined by them. Even in a safari park, you may find specially designed shelters, thoughtfully developed by architects to blend with the environment.
Shelter is fundamental to human survival, whether it takes the form of a tent or an improvised refuge constructed from leaves, sticks, and compost. Protecting ourselves from the harsh elements of nature is an absolute necessity.
